You might be surprised to learn that there are many ways that the ordinary business can benefit from improv comedy. For example, did you know that it can even be used to create more sales? This means more money in your pocket and more profit for your business and there are many great situations where improv comedy fits.

For example, the world of sales has a lot of room for improv. Scripts and “canned” presentations are normal here and many people in business believe it’s the only way to go. However, this isn’t true and you could be making a positive business decision with your choice to improv it instead.

There are some great situations where improv comedy can work its way into a sales campaign. It just takes some creativity to learn how and when to do it correctly. Just because more sales people are using scripts, doesn’t mean it’s the only way to do it. Many studies have shown that sales can be lost when the salesperson can’t go off the script.

If your salesperson is put on the spot or asked a question that they don’t know how to handle with the script, they will be completely unprepared unless you have also taught them when and how to improv a little.

Here are some ways you can create more sales with improv:

• The salesperson has confidence to answer any question
• They know what to do when put on the spot
• They can add humor or comedy to make the consumer feel at ease

Practicing and rehearsing are important and proper presentation should be done in every sales situation. However, there will always be situations that you cannot prepare for and you cannot prep your sales staff for. This is where improv comedy games might come in.

As part of your sales training, you can use improv comedy skits and exercises to help train your sales staff. Instead of just reading the scripts and going through the motions, teach your sales staff how to mix it up some and what to do when the consumer mixes it up for them.

One of the basic skills of improv is creativity and this is something that your sales staff will need if they are to respond properly to consumers and get more sales. Comedy is also a way of lightening the mood so that they can have more fun with the activities that are designed to teach them the core skills of improv that will help with sales.

Another important characteristic of sales is a positive mindset and this is the type of thing that improv comedy fosters in a person. These exercises can help you build a strong, positive, confident sales team that will certainly increase the amount of sales you receive for your business.
